Brand Architecture & Growth
Building brands from positioning through to market leadership. Hypo Toilet Cleaner under Chidera's management went from challenger to Nielsen and Kantar market leader — a first in its category.
Over a decade growing businesses and brands across FMCG and e-commerce; from Lagos boardrooms to Cambridge accelerator programmes. Chidera Anele is the bridge between African potential and global possibility.

"Africa can contribute more to global commerce — and e-commerce could be the strongest catalyst."
Chidera Anele is a world-class marketing professional with a verifiable track record of growing brands across Africa, Europe and America. Graduating with distinction from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), Chidera has spent over a decade at the intersection of consumer behaviour, brand strategy and market growth.
His career spans some of the most demanding brand environments on the continent — from Colgate Palmolive Tolaram to Go North Group — consistently delivering double-digit growth for every brand under his stewardship. The secret? A relentless focus on consumer insight, emotionally resonant storytelling, and commercial rigour that turns strategy into measurable results.
In 2023–24, Chidera extended his horizons through Carbon13's Cambridge Cohort 6, one of the world's most competitive climate-tech venture programmes. There he co-founded Grouse Fibre, a materials innovation company working to recover milk proteins as high-value industrial fibres.
Today, Chidera is channelling everything he has learned into Cotlidon Group, a venture designed to accelerate African participation in global e-commerce. He believes the continent's growth story is unwritten — and that the right infrastructure, the right brands, and the right strategy can write it boldly.

Orchestrating multi-agency campaigns that earn global recognition — including Nigeria's first WARC Award for Effectiveness and multiple Pitchers Grand Prix awards for the Hypo brand.
From concept to company. Carbon13 Cambridge-trained in lean startup methodology, Chidera co-founded Grouse Fibre and is building Cotlidon Group with the discipline of a growth operator and the vision of a founder.
Data-led decision making as a commercial instinct. Every strategy is grounded in market data, consumer research, and financial accountability — because growth without profit is just noise.
Leading e-commerce strategy and operations at Invivo Healthcare, bringing a decade of brand-building rigour to the health sector. Driving digital channel growth and developing the commercial frameworks that connect Invivo's products to consumers across online platforms.

Led Hypo Toilet Cleaner to category leadership: 52% volume growth and 120% value growth in 2021 vs 2020. Grew category penetration from 11% to 22% (2020–2022). Brand Equity Index above 4. Cotlidon Group is Chidera's flagship commercial vehicle — a platform built on the conviction that Africa is severely underrepresented in global e-commerce. The group is developing the strategy, partnerships, and operational infrastructure to change that. If e-commerce is the great equaliser of global trade, Cotlidon is Africa's entry point.
Co-founded at Carbon13 Cambridge Cohort 6, Grouse Fibre recovers milk casein proteins and transforms them into industrial-grade fibres — targeting horticulture, defence, and biomedical applications. Draws on a rich history of casein-based materials innovation, reimagined for the 21st century.
"Africa is not a market waiting to be discovered — it is a powerhouse waiting to be connected. E-commerce is not just a channel; it is the infrastructure of economic dignity. Every brand I build, every venture I launch, every conversation I have is oriented toward one outcome: Africa's full participation in global commerce."
The Hypo campaign didn't win a WARC Award by accident. It won because it told a truth about Nigerian life — and brands that tell the truth connect in ways that pure product messaging never can.
Double-digit growth is not magic. It is the output of rigorous consumer understanding, disciplined commercial management, and creative work that respects the intelligence of the audience.
The continent's young population, rising middle class, and rapid digital adoption make it the most compelling commercial opportunity of the next three decades.
Grouse Fibre and Cotlidon Group are not just businesses — they are bets on what's possible. Building them requires clear hypotheses, honest data, and the courage to iterate.
Whether you're a brand that needs to grow, a business exploring Africa's e-commerce opportunity, or an investor building the future — Chidera would like to hear from you.
